Shopmobility is a scheme to provide electrically powered scooters, wheelchairs, and manual wheelchairs to help people who have limited mobility - through permanent or temporary disablement, illness, accident, or age to access and use the shopping and leisure facilities in Folkestone.

Shopmobility Folkestone opened its doors for business in late May. The scheme has one electric scooter, one powerchair, three transit and two self-propelling manual wheelchairs available. All equipment must be pre-booked. Membership of the scheme is open to anyone with a mobility impairment for £5.00 per annum. There are two disabled parking bays in Millfield or parking for Orange Badge Holders opposite the Wheelchair Users Group office on double yellow lines (max 3 hours). Your local Out & About or Volunteer transport scheme can drop people off outside the office.

Shopmobility is open by appointment Monday to Friday from 10 am to 3pm.
The scheme can provide manual wheelchairs for holiday and emergency loan. We also supply electric scooters and powerchairs for long or short term loan, subject to availability. Users of the scheme can also access the free and confidential information service of DISK during their visit (Telephone 01303 226464). They provide free and confidential information on many disability subjects including Benefits, Caring Services, Holidays, Support Groups, Leisure Activities, Mobility, Transport and so much more...
