Folkestone
and District Round Table is a small group seeking people who may
be interested in joining them. The group meets at least every fortnight
at the Clifton Hotel, Folkestone and other venues depending on the function.
It is a non-political and a non-sectarian organisation open to any male
between the ages of 18 and 45. For women there is the Inner Circle movement.
There is a monthly fee that covers the meals at the Clifton and the majority
of other events. If you do not attend all the time you are given a refund
at the end of the year.

There are two main aspects to the Round Table movement. Firstly there is friendship and having fun with a group of friends but secondly there is the opportunity to help the local community. The meetings we hold vary and include speakers, wine tastings and debates with other Round Table groups through the country. Some of the meetings are more formal than others as we discuss some of the forthcoming charitable events that we also undertake as a group. These events have included Christmas collections for hampers, helping out at a local woman's refuge, charity golf days and Children in Need activities, which include collecting at the mainline stations in London. |

Money
raised by us is either put towards the Round Table "Children's Wish"
appeal, a charity to help wishes come true for children with life threatening
illnesses, or towards local charities or requests which have included
the purchase of a special car seat to enable a severely disabled child
to be easily transported by his parents. Other events have included ten-pin
bowling, bat and trap, progressive suppers, London outings, clay pigeon
shooting, foreign exchange trips with European Round Table groups and
summer balls.
